PRE-CONSULTATION INFO

Support

During the initial consultation we will discuss the changes you desire on your body, your expectations with regard to the results, your medical history and your health status. Together, we will decide on the ideal method for you personally, so that the surgery is designed to suit you.

First of all, we get a detailed medical history and, taking into account your state of health, we decide whether it is safe for you to proceed with surgery. It is important to reveal to Professor Kakagia all the information about your health, even those you may think they are irrelevant, so that potential risks can be properly assessed.

It is very important to report the medication you receive, any allergies to food, medicines, and materials, as well as problems you may have experienced in previous surgeries. If you are under anticoagulant therapy, it is important that your regime is modified before surgery. Also indicate if you consume green tea and dietary supplements
It is crucial to reduce drastically and ideally to quit smoking at least 3 weeks before surgery. Nicotine causes vasoconstriction and this can significantly affect the healing process and the outcome of the operation.
All surgical procedures are accompanied by a certain degree of risk, whether performed for aesthetic or reconstructive purposes. We take all precautions to minimize the likelihood of complications from interventions. Professor Kakagia and her associates are committed to the safety and effectiveness of all the interventions offered.
Make sure you have realistic expectations. Aesthetic Surgery is a harmonious interaction between science and art, and the goals you desire in connection with the outcome of interventions must be reasonable.
During the consultation, ask all the questions about the operation, so that you have the time to prepare for it mentally and emotionally. Do not forget to learn about the expected recovery time you need to return to your work and your daily activities.
It is common practice, especially for experienced plastic surgeons, to perform more than one surgery together, at the same surgical time, if necessary for the patient. This allows us to shape a better aesthetic effect in overall appearance.
After discussing the results that can be achieved, possibly with the help of a computer display, you will sign two consent forms, one for keeping certain personal data in our file, and a form stating that you are fully informed and you have understood everything about your upcoming intervention, including possible complications and side effects.
Follow the doctor's instructions during the post-operative period. They derive from deep knowledge and experience and will allow you to enjoy your everyday activities without any problems.
Finally, remember that, as a rule, insurance companies do not cover the cost of aesthetic interventions and this is a global policy. On rare occasions, however, when there is evidence of pain or annoyance, costs are likely to be covered to some extent.
